Our journey in the Hindu Kush takes us through the mysterious land of Kipling, hardly changed to the present day.  This is a splendid and spectacular mountainous region, which has a varied landscape of upland steppes and isolated villages, crystal clear turquoise lakes and rugged snow-capped peaks, rarely climbed. The trek runs along the edge of the Wakhan Corridor and follows an ancient route that linked the people of the Hindu Kush, Pamir, and Karakorum.

This is the place of the Great Game which was played between the Russians and the British during the 19th century. The two empires jockeyed for land, position and influence in the strategic heart of Central Asia. Indeed, the corridor was created as a buffer zone to curtail advancing Russian influence into British India.

The trek starts in Bilhanz in the Ishkoman valley. From here, we proceed north to an enchanting area of untouched peaks, remote meadows and pristine lakes. We cross Karambar and Darkot Passes, explore the Karambar lake site and traverse the Hindu Kush and Hindu Raj mountains. The trek ends in the beautiful Darkot valley. This exceptional journey, showered with history and romance, gives you the opportunity to experience a unique natural panorama at the meeting point of frontiers.
